September 12, 2003 - New Lift Hardware Arrives! The four pictures depict the towers, cross arms (which go on top of the towers), sheave assemblies, and part of the return station. The cross arms are assembled in the parking lot before being lifted by crane or helicopter onto the towers. The sheave assemblies, work platforms, and safety switches are installed on the cross arms in the parking lot. The towers are painted on site and ladders are installed while they are lying on the ground. Once assembly is complete, the towers will be installed by helicopter or crane and the cross arms will be placed on top of them. Tower installation is scheduled for the week of October 6th. The return station is hauled by truck to the summit where it will be installed by crane. That work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
